CRAFT APPRENTICE (MECHANICAL) - 26 - WEEK COURSE

Subjects:

Pipes and pipework; valves; boiler fittings; bearings and lubrication; gearboxes and power transmission; pumps; compressors; power station operation and layouts, safety.



CRAFT APPRENTICE (ELECTRICAL) - 26 - WEEK COURSE

Subjects:

Electrical installations; switchgear; protection devices; starters and motor control gear; lifts; motors and gearboxes; actuators, bearings and lubrication, safety.



CRAFT APPRENTICE (INSTRUMENT) - 57 - WEEK COURSE

Subjects:

Pressure level and flow instruments; temperature measuring devices, recorders; automatic control; chemical analysers; electronic servicing; closed circuit television; turbine supervisory equipment; safety.



STUDENT APPRENTICE - 20 - WEEK COURSE

        Student apprentices receive training in subjects selected from those listed under the craft apprentice programmes.

Coupling alignment (mechanical); plant skills course (mechanical); plant layout and operation (mechanical); bearings and lubrication (mechanical); valves (mechanical); pipes and pipework (mechanical); actuators (electrical); motors (electrical); lifts (electrical); test instruments (electrical); sootblowers (electrical); pressure level and flow instruments (instruments);-temperature indicators/recorders (instruments); auto control (instruments); closed circuit television (instruments), television cameras (instruments); electronics (instruments).
